Judging Stage One

Submissions are locked in on November 11th and then Stage One of judging commences. The review team at Devpost and Google Cloud will review your submission materials to ensure they are complete, eligible and meet a baseline level of viability to move to Stage Two. At a minimum, this means the submission includes all of the below items:

  • Built a Project with Google Gemini API, in either Google AI Studio, or Vertex AI environment

  • Provided a public link to your project for judges to test

  • Provided your Google Project ID

  • Provided a link to your public code repository showing use of Gemini product within your idea

  • Provided a text description that includes a summary of the Project’s features and functionality

  • Provided a ~3-minute demonstration video of your Project

Note:  if you submit your project at least one week before the deadline, the reviewers will try hard to check for baseline eligibility in advance, and you will receive a message if any part of your submission requires revisions. So, submit early to make sure nothing gets in the way of your submission being fully eligible!

Judging Stage Two

The submissions that pass Stage One will then be sent to a Judging Panel! Those judges will review submission materials and score your project according to each of the below judging criteria from 1 to 5 (5 being the best).

  • Technological Implementation
  • Does the interaction with the Gemini API, BigQuery, Gemini Code Assist demonstrate quality software development?
  • Design
  • Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out?
  • Potential Impact
  • How big of an impact could the project have on the Security, Sovereignty, Sustainability or Data and AI sectors?
  • Quality of the Idea
  • How creative and unique is the project?

Please note that the judges are not required to download or test your project and will depend heavily on the presentation of your project in action within your video.

Best of luck as you continue to prepare for the judges!
